Dimitris & Ioanna’s Celebration at Golden Beach and Rebel Bar
Some islands have a beautiful way of calling you back. For Dimitris and Ioanna, a Greek couple living in the Netherlands, Paros has been their cherished sanctuary for years. Choosing to return here to exchange their vows was a heartfelt tribute to their history and the effortless beauty of the Cyclades. As a Paros wedding photographer, it was an absolute privilege to document a destination wedding in Greece that felt less like a formal event and more like a warm, joyful homecoming.
The festivities began at Green Project in Drios, a lush spot where international guests gathered for a relaxed pre-wedding evening of drinks and storytelling. It was the perfect, laid-back introduction to the island’s authentic southern charm.
On the wedding day, the atmosphere was a perfect mix of nostalgia and excitement. Dimitris prepared at his family’s summer home in Golden Beach (Chryssi Akti), where the main attraction was their stunning, fully restored vintage VW Beetle. Decorating this classic car, which would later carry them into their new chapter, was a definite highlight of the morning. Meanwhile, Ioanna was surrounded by friends at Louridis Studios, overlooking the very beach where their seaside reception at Rebel Bar was being meticulously prepared.
The ceremony at the picturesque Pyrgaki chapel was nothing short of cinematic. Dimitris arrived in the Beetle, waiting patiently for Ioanna as she made her way up the hill, accompanied by the soulful, celebratory sounds of traditional Greek musicians. Under the bright Aegean sun, their Orthodox ceremony featured all the timeless rituals—the crowning with the stefana, the exchanging of rings, and a joyful shower of rice, providing the perfect narrative for authentic Cyclades wedding photography.
After a quiet, romantic portrait session overlooking the deep blue, the couple made a grand, high-energy entrance at Rebel Bar in their vintage Beetle. From the emotional speeches to a wild party that lasted until dawn with their toes in the sand, this celebration proved that when you combine a vintage soul with authentic Greek tradition, the result is pure magic. Documenting these rich layers of emotion and style is exactly what drives my passion as a wedding photographer in Paros.
More Magic at the Pyrgaki Chapel:
The breathtaking hilltop chapel in Pyrgaki is a truly versatile location that holds a special place in our portfolio. While it provided the perfect traditional setting for Dimitris and Ioanna's Orthodox ceremony, its sweeping sea views are equally stunning for unique, multicultural symbolic celebrations.
